THE GOLF CHANNEL REALITY SHOW, ROAD TRIP: MYRTLE BEACH, INSPIRES NEW PAWLEYS PLANTATION GOLF PACKAGE

03-05-2008

The “Road Trip” Golf Package Features Golf Courses Spotlighted In Show’s First Four Episodes

March 3, 2008, Pawleys Island, S.C. — Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club in Pawleys Island, S.C., is offering a new golf package, “Road Trip.” To celebrate their appearance on The Golf Channel’s new reality series, Road Trip: Myrtle Beach, the “Road Trip” package lets golfers experience four courses featured on the show, including Pawleys Plantation, which the show’s stars lauded for its “awesome” beauty.

The three-night “Road Trip” package is available through September 3, 2008 (rates vary from $433 to $714 per person, according to the season) based on quad occupancy. It includes accommodations in a spacious Pawleys Plantation villa, daily plantation breakfast, and a round of golf on Pawleys Plantation’s Jack Nicklaus-designed layout, and one round each on the Tradition Golf Club, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, and Willbrook Plantation Golf Club. As an added incentive, each person in the foursome who books the package before March 23, 2008 will receive a $10 voucher to Franks, Louis’, the Pawleys Island Tavern and Quigley’s, all restaurants that will be featured on the reality series.

Airing on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., Road Trip: Myrtle Beach is the first reality show to be based in South Carolina and Myrtle Beach is the first American golf destination to play host.

“We are very excited that The Golf Channel chose to kick off their reality series on the south end of the Grand Strand,” said Jann Walker, director of marketing at Pawleys Plantation. “By showcasing top-notch golf courses on the Waccamaw Neck, The Golf Channel gives viewers a look at a different kind of Grand Strand golf experience. We’re part of everything that Myrtle Beach has to offer, yet we’re in a quieter part of the area where the focus is on great golf and the beauty of the Lowcountry. The show explores the unique south end restaurants and nightlife. Viewers will definitely learn why Myrtle Beach has been nicknamed the ‘Golf Capital of the World.’ And, after seeing our golf course and accommodations, they’ll get a better understanding of why Travel & Leisure Golf magazine named Pawleys Plantation one of the best places to stay in Myrtle Beach.”
