TORONTO (February 25, 2008) –March Break in Toronto offers a full calendar of events, shows and attractions to keep kids and parents alike intrigued and entertained.  Affordable packages and specials make it easier to explore new adventures and rediscover a familiar place.

 

“With only seven short days to pack in as much excitement possible, Toronto is a hub of activity this spring break,” said David Whitaker, President and CEO of Tourism Toronto. “This year’s line up of events invigorates the imagination and is set to inspire great travel experiences.”

                                 

March Break Toronto adventures start with: 

 

  • Canada Blooms – From March 12-16 the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building is in full bloom. The Toronto Flower and Garden Festival will dazzle the family with all-day creative displays of colour, texture and fragrances designed by Canada’s best landscaping talents. Kids will learn the art of painting garden pots, planting seeds and follow worms as they make soil when attending Can You Dig It? Spring is in the air at www.canadablooms.com.

 

  • Art Gallery of Ontario –Creativity is unleashed at the AGO each Sunday until March 16th through Smörgåsbord series at the Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School from 2pm- 4pm. During these art-filled days, families can draw on various inspirations such as Yoga, Whimsy and Wonder. General admission fees apply $15 for kids and $18 for adults.   • Casa Loma – From March 8-16 celebrate March Break at a real castle. Daily performances from pirates and buccaneers 10:30am- 2pm, interactive displays and strolling characters provide an exciting getaway in the heart of the city. Catch the Pirate Baron’s mystical magic show, Long John Strong’s incredible feats of juggling, or follow the lead of Pirate guides on a treasure hunt through the castle halls.
