Music Will Resound on Beaches & Streets of Zihuatanejo
at 2015 International Guitar Festival
 
 
Zihuatanejo, Mexico, February 18, 2015:  Guitar music will resound in the streets and beaches of Zihuatanejo March 6-15, 2015 when musicians from around the world descend on this popular destination on the Mexican Pacific for the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival.
 
Themed “Strings, Sands & Sunsets,” the international music event will feature 14 concerts over six days at several locations in Zihuatanejo, including La Ropa and Madera beaches and the Viceroy Zihuatanejo resort.
 
Guitarists are coming to Zihuatanejo from many countries to participate in the festival including Australia, Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Pakistan, Spain, Switzerland and the United States. They will perform in a wide scope of styles from flamenco, Latin twang and Brazilian choro to contemporary fusion, gypsy jazz and classical Indian. 
 
The festival will kickoff with a gala Opening Concert with 14 artists and groups, and close with a Jam session and  free-of-charge public concert with multiple artists, while in between there will be a series of smaller concerts such as the March 11 event at Viceroy Zihuatanejo with Asif Sinan of Pakistan and Duo Agogo from Australia (pictured at left).
 
 
“Hosting such popular annual events as the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival has propelled Zihuatanejo’s image as a diverse and desirable destination,” said Martin Kipping, General Manager of the Viceroy Zihuatanejo. “Tourists are arriving in growing numbers and airlines have been adding service so we have more flights than ever before to our recently modernized airport.”
 
2015 marks the 12th year in a row that Zihuatanejo hosts the popular guitar festival, and this year will be the biggest yet with more musicians playing and more concert-goers expected. Tickets are $15-20 per concert, while a festival pass for all events is $110.  http://www.zihuafest.info/
