Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

10-04-2007

Whistler, BC, October 2, 2007 – Winter has come early to North America’s number one ski resort.  Whistler celebrated the end of September with 30 centimeters (12 inches) of fresh white powder.  Last season saw over 46 feet of snow fall over the resorts’ 8,100 acres, 200 trails, three glaciers, and twelve alpine bowls and 2007/2008 is shaping up to be another record-breaking season on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.

An additional 2-5 cm of snow is expected to fall nightly for the remainder of the week and Whistlerites are eagerly waxing their skis and adjusting their bindings in anticipation of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains opening earlier than the scheduled November 22 date.  Last year Whistler Mountain opened a week early due to heavy snowfalls.

As the only ski-in/ski-out hotel nestled at the base of spectacular Blackcomb Mountain, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is Whistler’s definitive resort.  Simply strap in and “shoosh” out for the day and upon your return, just ask Jeeves to park your skis at the Chateau’s Ski Valet as you head indoors for a little après ski action in The Mallard Lounge.

Early Bird Gets the… Fresh Tracks – In celebration of all that powder, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler introduces the Early Bird 6-night “46 Feet of Snow Package”.  Book accommodation at the award-winning Fairmont Chateau Whistler and a 5-Day Whistler Blackcomb lift pass and you’ll also receive:

-6th day Whistler Blackcomb lift pass

-Free 1-Hour Tube Park pass

-6th night accommodation free!

-Fresh Tracks Access – with Fresh Tracks, you'll be the master of the mountain with preferential, pre-opening access to the slopes following a hearty mountaintop breakfast.

The 46 Feet of Snow packages are available from January 1 through March 30, 2008, subject to availability when booked by October 15, 2007.  Rates start from CDN $274 per person.
