Go Ahead Expands Tour Options with a Focus on Theme-Based Travel

Cambridge, Mass. (February 15, 2008) – Go Ahead Tours, a leader in cultural discovery through guided tours and global journeys, has launched eight new tours geared towards the increasing popularity of theme-based travel.  Each provides travelers with a tailored experience – food and wine tours that explore the flavors of a country; or the chance to experience spectacular, but lesser known destinations, combined with some of the grandest and most popular; and others providing active, adventurous travel experiences.

The new food and wine tours include:  “A Taste of France: Burgundy & Champagne” and “A Taste of Spain: Catalonia to Madrid”.  Active and outdoor appreciation themes are offered in “A Walking Tour of Switzerland,” “Ultimate South Africa,” and “Treasures of the Canadian Rockies”.  Hidden treasures are coupled with famous landmarks in “The Best of France and Spain,” “European Masterpieces” and “Undiscovered Italy: Lazo to Lombardy.”

“As the ‘Baby Boomers’ become more experienced in traveling abroad, there’s more interest and demand for unique, culturally-rich itineraries – our new tours address this dynamic by incorporating specific themes and emphasis.  Many travelers have seen the world with us and keep coming back for more diverse, distinctive experiences,” states Go Ahead’s Vice President of Marketing Cyril Lemaire.  “Their desire for more in-depth and interactive vacations has inspired Go Ahead Tours to create these customized tours that focus on specific subjects or activities – these new itineraries are rewarding and unforgettable.”
