THE CHOCOLATE SHOW CELEBRATES 10 YEARS WITH CHOCOLATE WEEK

(September, 2007) - The International Chocolate Show will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary in NYC by introducing the first ever Chocolate Week.  From November 4th - 11th 2007, New Yorkers and visitors alike will enjoy specialty chocolate menus and chocolate cocktails at some of Manhattan's finest establishments.

"We decided to launch Chocolate Week this year to commence the celebration of the 10 Year Anniversary of the International Chocolate Show." Says Francois Jeantet, co-founder and co-producer of the International Chocolate Show. "We believe that Chocolate Week is a way of promoting and connecting Chocolate to New Yorkers & travelers alike during the holiday season.  Restaurants, hotels, & retails stores all over the metropolitan area have graciously agreed to celebrate Chocolate with us, and we couldn't be happier."

Renowned restaurants, hotels, & retail stores throughout NYC will be taking part in Chocolate Week. Notable names include, Artisanal, Butter, Le Cirque, The Beard House, Peanut Butter and Co., Brasserie 8 ½, David Burke and Donatella, P*Ong, Bouchon Bakery, Michel Cluizel store @ ABC Carpet Store, Porter House, Country Restaurant. These restaurants & retail stores will be offering items such as chocolate tastings, chocolate cocktails, and entire chocolate menus (sweet & savory).


About the Chocolate Show:

The International Chocolate Show is a three day event entirely dedicated to Chocolate. It is taking place in NYC at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building November 9th - 11th. The Chocolate Show features over 65 exhibitors, Cooking Demos, a Kid's Zone, and a Chocolate Lounge. In 2006 over 25,000 people attended the Chocolate Show.

THE 10th ANNUAL CHOCOLATE SHOW

NOVEMBER 9th - 11th 2007

 (New York, NY) - Drawing upon chocolate's multiple virtues, the nation's largest chocolate celebration, The Chocolate Show, is returning to New York City for its 10 year anniversary. The Chocolate Show promises to tantalize all, from the most notorious sweet tooth, to the youngest of chocoholics; the beauty-buff to the fashionista; and the most knowledgeable foodie to the amateur event-goer.  The Metropolitan Pavilion and the Altman Building will fill all of its combined 40,000 square feet with chocolate goodness, to delight all the senses, from November 9th through November 11th, 2007.

For the first time ever, New York has declared Chocolate Week November 4th-11th in honor of the Chocolate Show's 10 year celebration. Restaurants, hotels, and retail stores across the US are participating by serving exclusive chocolate menus and specialty chocolate dishes. Notable names include, Artisanal, Butter, Le Cirque, The Beard House, Peanut Butter and Co., Brasserie 8 ½, David Burke and Donatella, P*Ong, Bouchon Bakery, Michel Cluizel store @ ABC Carpet Store, Porter House, Country Restaurant.

The Chocolate Show will kick off on November 8th with the unveiling of the 2007 Haute Chocolate Couture Collection, showcasing the work of top fashion designers (including, Nicole Romano, Heidi Weisel, Reem Akra, Irina Shabayeva) in partnership with accomplished pastry chefs and chocolatiers (including, Dominique Ansel, Martin Howard, and Michelle Tampakis).

From November 9th-11th, the Chocolate Show will feature booths offering sample creations and new products by top chocolatiers, including Sweet Riot, Berkshire Bark Chocolates, Fairytale Brownies, Peanut Butter & Co., and Knipschildt Chocolatier.

Professional chocolate demos, will be taught by such pastry masters in both the Viking Range and Chocolate Theaters.  Young chocophiles of all ages can delight in special activities and entertainment in the KidZone, while those "of age" can head over to the Chocolate Lounge Managed by iFood Studios to experiment with decadent chocolate drinks concocted by top mixologists including Junior Merino from Cocktail Times, Jonathan Pogash, Dushan Zaric from Employees only, Tad Carducci, Johnny Iuzzini from Jean Georges, and Juan Coronado from Sortie. Folks with a literary interest in chocolate, as well as the home chef, will find solace at the central Barnes & Noble book display with new releases from and book signings by top pastry chefs.

The Chocolate Show will satisfy those of all ages so come by and celebrate The 10 Year Anniversary of the International Chocolate Show from November 9th-November 11th.
