Late November into December is a lovely time to be in Paris, with spectacular lighting displays on the Champs-Elysées, the major shopping streets and the big department stores.  There’s an enormous Christmas tree on the plaza at Notre Dame Cathedral and traditional Christmas markets all over the city.  You can choose to have lunch or dinner at a cozy Left Bank bistro, a brasserie like Bofinger or even the Michelin-starred Violin d’Ingres.  Remember that restaurants always post their menu and prices outside, and that lunch is almost always less expensive than dinner.
