The TRAVELER'S JOURNAL: July twenty-fifth, on location in the British Isles.

If you're a film buff and headed to the British Isles, listen carefully. The list of English Classics re-discovered by Hollywood and filmed in Britain grows longer each year.

Understanding that many travelers love to visit locations where movies they've enjoyed were made, the British Tourist Authority has issued a free guide that points the way to some 200 recent movie sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, including Shakespeare in Love and the Full Monty.

For example, the Vauxhall Movie Map highlights three manors used by the BBC in its adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice." They include Lyme Park, Sudbury Hall, and Belton House, as well as the preserved 18th-century village of Lacock. Also listed are several stately West Country homes that played key roles in "Sense and Sensibility." Visitors can also tour Hadon Hall in Derbyshire, the location for the latest version of "Jane Eyre."

"Restoration," was filmed at a 13th-century fortress near Cardiff, Wales. The Scottish Highlands were the setting for "Braveheart," "Rob Roy," "Loch Ness," and Sean Connery's new release which comes out this summer, "Entrapment."

Then there's the London location of the Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant hit romance, "Notting Hill."

Many of these locations are open for visitors to tour. The map also highlights London's Museum of the Moving Image and the National Museum of Photography, Film, and Television, both make a great rainy afternoon for any cinema buff.
