The TRAVELER'S JOURNAL: December twenty-fourth, going around the world in 24 hours.

'Tis the day before Christmas, and all through the place,

preparations are being made for the nocturnal race. Claus has his list and heeding good travel advice,

he's already checked it once, before checking it twice. The toy bags are all packed and loaded with care,

the itinerary set for the annual dash through the air. Security and air traffic control will need no apology,

Care Force One is fitted with stealth technology. Pre-flight checks prevent last minute delays.

Eight anxious reindeer have been ready for days. All systems are go as the earth's rotational whine,

brings first darkness to the international date line. The team lifts off, crossing Eastern Siberia,

then south to Japan and beyond to Australia. They'll have eight hours to bring a morning of peace,

to good children in Asia, in India and throughout the Mid-East.But in Europe and Africa, their pace becomes really disturbin'.

Just four hours for myriad stops 'tween Murmansk and Durbin. As morning is breaking in places they've already gone,

the team traverses South America in the direction of home. But first they'll visit the Caribbean, the U.S, and Canadian Northwest,

the last major stops on their annual test.Twenty-four hours after lift-off, they turn wearily home,

making one final pass over the city of Nome. But they cannot depart before offering best wishes eternal,

Merry Christmas to all from the TRAVELER'S JOURNAL.
